Bu dokuzuncu dördüncü. Dokuz yıl önce 4 Temmuz’da WPBeginner’ı kurdum. Bu kadar uzun bir yol kat ettiğimize inanamıyorum.
Her yıl olduğu gibi bu yıl da birkaç dakikamı ayırıp hem iş hayatımda hem de özel hayatımda olup biten tüm önemli şeylerin kısa bir özetini yapmak istiyorum.
WPBeginner Hikayesi
WordPress kullanmaya 16 yaşındayken başladım ve WPBeginner’ı 19 yaşında tek bir misyonla kurdum: WordPress’i yeni başlayanlar için kolay hale getirmek.
O zamandan beri WPBeginner yeni başlayanlar için en büyük ücretsiz WordPress kaynak sitesi haline geldi.

Kişisel Güncellemeler
Oğlum Solomon şu anda 20 aylık. Zaman akıp gidiyor ve o çok hızlı büyüyor. Amanda (eşim) ve Solomon iş seyahatlerimin çoğunda bana katılıyorlar ve birkaç eğlenceli seyahate de çıktık.
Son WPBeginner yıldönümü yazısından bu yana Türkiye, Dubai, Pakistan, Meksika (Cabo, Punta Mita, Cancun) ve Bahamalar’a (iki kez) gittik. Solomon ayrıca Nashville’deki WordCamp US’e katılarak WordCamp katılım sayısını toplam 3’e çıkardı.
Bu yılın başlarında Florida Üniversitesi’nden (mezun olduğum okul) seçkin bir Genç Mezun ödülü aldım. Ayrıca Başkan Süiti’nden kolej futbol maçına katıldım ve tonlarca harika insanla tanıştım.
Haftanın 3 günü fiziksel bir ofiste çalışmaya başladım. Bu harika oldu çünkü odaklanmamı ve daha fazla iş yapmamı sağlıyor. Ayrıca evde olduğumda Solomon ile daha fazla vakit geçirebiliyorum. Geçen yıl gayrimenkul portföyümü genişlettim ve bir Wells Fargo binası ekledim. Ofisimi katlardan birinde oluşturdum ve bankanın kiracım olması çok güzel.
WPBeginner Güncellemeleri
Hepinize teşekkürler, WPBeginner çift haneli oranlarda (yıldan yıla) büyümeye devam etti. Geçen yıl öne çıkarmak istediğim birkaç önemli güncelleme oldu.
1. 100.000 YouTube abonesini geçtik
Geçen yılki hedeflerimden biri, bu yıldönümü yazısını yazmadan önce YouTube’da 100.000 aboneyi geçmekti. Başardık.
Şu anda 102.000’den fazla abonemiz var ve videolarımız 10 milyondan fazla izlendi.

2. SSL ve Anında Bildirimler
WPBeginner’ın artık SSL kullandığını fark etmiş olabilirsiniz. Temmuz ayından itibaren Google Chrome, SSL kullanmayan tüm web sitelerini güvensiz olarak işaretliyor. WPBeginner’da herhangi bir ödeme almamamıza rağmen, okuyucularımızın güvenliğine değer verdiğimiz için bu değişikliğe gittik.
SSL’e geçmek istiyorsanız, ücretsiz bir SSL sertifikasının nasıl alınacağına ilişkin adım adım kılavuzumuza bakın.
SSL eklemenin bir parçası olarak, WPBeginner’a Anlık Bildirimler de ekledik. Abone olma bildirimini zaten fark etmiş olabilirsiniz. WPBeginner’daki yeni yayınlar ve kılavuzlarla güncel kalmak için harika bir yoldur.
3. Denetim ve Yeniden Yazma
Bu yılki hedeflerimizden biri de eski yazılarımız için büyük bir içerik denetimi yapmak. WPBeginner 2000’den fazla ücretsiz WordPress eğitimine sahip. Eski yazılarımızı zamanında güncelleyebilmek için ekibimizi genişlettik.
Ayrıca Gutenberg kullanıma sunulduğunda büyük bir içerik revizyonuna hazırlanıyoruz. Bu, bu yılın ilerleyen dönemlerinde bizim için büyük bir zorluk olacak.
4. Geliştirilmiş WPBeginner Sunucu Altyapısı
Neredeyse her hafta bir kullanıcıdan WPBeginner’ın müthiş hızının ardındaki sırları soran bir e-posta alıyorum. Cevap altyapı ve önbellekleme.
