Skapa en separat home page och blogg page
Först måste du skapa två separata WordPress-sidor som du kan använda som startsida och bloggsida.
Du behöver inte add to något content till dessa pages, och du kan namnge dem som du gillar. For instance, some business websites use ”News” for their blogg page.
När du har skapat dessa pages går du till Settings ” Lä sa page i WordPress admin area.
Nu, under sektionen märkt ”Your homepage displays”, måste du klicka på knappen för ”A static page”.
Därefter kan du select the Home and Blog pages som du skapade tidigare. You should then scroll down and click the ”Save Changes” button.
När du nu navigerar till vyn Pages ” All Pages från WordPress dashboard, kommer du att se att Home page är märkt ”Front Page” och Blog page är märkt ”Posts Page”.
Gå vidare och klicka på länken ”View” under sidan Blogg för att förhandsgranska den.

Customize din home page
Än så länge är din new home page tom. Nu är det dags att add to information om ditt företag, dina produkter och tjänster och berätta för dina visitor hur de kan kontakta you.

Customize din blogg page
Om du är nöjd med hur din blogg page ser ut är ditt jobb slutfört.
Men om du för närvarande använder ett blockbaserat tema kan du också customize din blogg page genom att besöka skärmen Appearance ” Editor från WordPress dashboard.
När du är där väljer du alternativet ”Pages” i den vänstra colonnen i hela Site Editor.
Detta kommer att öppna en lista över all pages på your website i den vänstra column.
Härifrån väljer du alternativet ”Blogg” och klickar sedan på sidans preview till höger för att börja customize din blogg-sida.
You can now click on the add block ’+’ button in the top left corner of the screen and add blocks of your choice to the page.
Dessutom kan du ändra bakgrundsfärg, text eller link på din blogg page genom att clicka på ’Styles’ icon högst upp till höger på vyn.
Detta öppnar en blockpanel till höger där du kan klicka på fliken ”Typografi” för att ändra textfärg, fliken ”Färger” för att ändra bakgrundsfärg och fliken ”Layouts” för att konfigurera din bloggs pages dimensioner.
När du är klar, glöm inte att klicka på knappen ”Save” högst upp för att spara dina settings.
Nu kan du besöka din WordPress blogg page för att se hur den ser ut.
Men om du använder ett klassiskt theme, måste du använda metod 2 istället för att customize din blogginlägg page.
Metod 2: Skapa en Customize-sida för blogginlägg med en Drag & Drop Builder (rekommenderas)
Ett plugin för temabyggare allow you att enkelt skapa ett custom WordPress-tema utan någon kod. Det inkluderar möjligheten att skapa och customize en separat page för blogginlägg.
Installera SeedProd Theme Builder

Customize din home page

Customize din blogg page
SeedProd theme builder ger också många sätt att customize din bloggs indexsida.
Kom igång genom att klicka på länken ”Edit Design” under page.

Blocket Inlägg har redan lagts till i bloggindexmallen för you, och i den här mallen visar blocket dina posts i två columns. Vi kan ändra detta till en enda column.
Klicka bara på blocket Posts och ändra sedan inställningen ’Columns’ till 1.
Layouten kommer omedelbart att ändras till en enda column.
När du rullar ner i blockinställningarna för Posts hittar du togglar som låter dig välja om eller ej att visa inläggets featured image och titel. Du kan också välja vilken header tagg som ska användas för postens titel.
Det finns också alternativ för att visa olika metadata för post. You can toggle the date modified, author, date and time published, and the comment count.
Här är några fler sätt som du kan customize din blogg index:
- Du kan filtrera indexet efter post type, category, tagged eller författare.
- Sorteringsordningen för posterna kan ändras.
- Du kan välja hur många posts som ska visas på en page.
- Du kan toggle excerptet för posten och customize dess längd.
När du har slutfört customize av din blogg page, se till att du klickar på knappen ”Save” högst upp på vyn. Sedan kan du återgå till listan med templates genom att clicka på ikonen ”X”.
Aktivering av temat SeedProd
När du har slutfört customize av temamallarna måste du publicera det nya anpassade temat.
Det är bara att toggle inställningen ”Enable SeedProd Theme” till positionen ”YES”.
Du kommer omedelbart att se en notification om att inställningarna för WordPress Home Page och Blog behöver ändras. När du klickar på knappen ”OK” kommer dessa Settings att ändras åt dig.
You can now visit your website to view your new home page and blog page. Så här ser indexsidan för bloggen ut på vår demo site.
Bonus: Display dina senaste inlägg i WordPress
När du har skapat en separat bloggsida kan du fortfarande visa några senaste inlägg på din home page för att uppmuntra användare att utforska mer av din site.
För att göra detta öppnar du din homepage i WordPress block editor. När du är där klickar du på knappen ”Add Block” högst upp till vänster på vyn för att öppna block-menyn.
Härifrån lägger du helt enkelt till blocket ”Latest Posts” på sidan. När du har gjort det kan du customize listan över senaste inlägg för att visa post excerpts, författare namn och datum enligt vad du gillar.
Klicka slutligen på knappen ”Publicera” högst upp för att lagra dina settings. Nu kommer några av dina senaste inlägg fortfarande att visas på home page för att se till att användarna spenderar mer tid på din website.

If you do not see a Front Page Template, then this means that your theme does not have a template with this name. You can use a template provided by your theme or create a custom page template for your blog page.

It works, expect in the case I want to use a custom template for the posts page.
Even if I’m allowed to pick the template when creating the Blog page, and I selecte this page in reading for posts, it seems WP always uses index.php instead of the custom template.

I tried adding the blog to my website, but I does not come out correctly. When I set the home page as the front page and the blog page as the post page, the content on the blog page is the exact same contact you see on my home page. How would I be able to fix this?

and double check what template is used for the homepage and what is the default template.
In my case there was a home.php, which is used as default if no template is specified in the blog page.

hi there… I am using the Customiz’r theme and I am not able to designate my homepage as an actual ’page’. I want the homepage to be what it is now (see codecompliedcheck.com), but this page shows up in the menu as ’Custom’, not as ’Page’, so when I go to the setting to designate my actual homepage as the ’static page’, it’s not even in the dropdown menu for me to choose. Which means that I’m not able to designate the ’CCC Blog’ page I created as the ’posts page’. Can you help me figure this out? Thanks in advance.

Kyra, we don’t provide support for WordPress themes (because there are thousands of them). However, did you check theme customize screen located under Appearance » Themes » Customize. You will probably see front page options there.

Zeeshan you need to create a new page. On the admin menu click on Pages and then on Add New. You will see that an editing interface will appear with a larger text box. This larger text box will have two buttons on top of it Visual and Text. The text editor is plain text editor with no styling buttons. The Visual editor has styling buttons and is supposed to be beginner friendly.

I’ve tried twice but it didn’t work for me coz there is no Front Page template exists in the theme, i am using Premium EffectiveNews theme from themesforest and i just wonder why it isn’t so modern lol… jokes apart anyways there are 6 templates exist in page attributes section 1-Default template 2-Authors 3-Contact us 4-Full width 5-Reviews 6-Sitemap… I’ve tried 2 times by selecting default template, disabled comments and trackbacks plus i changed Reading Settings also as static page, front page as ”home” and posts page as ”Blog” it didn’t work for me

Christine to separate your blog into multiple pages by topics you already have Categories. You can then put those categories in your navigation menu from Appearance » Menus screen. If you want you can place categories as sub-menus under your blog page in the navigation menu.

Every time I search for help, I seem to run into one of your articles. They are very helpful! I’m hoping you may be able to work you magic on this problem….
A child theme was created specifically to help remove the page titles from showing up in the body of the site and remain solely in the tabs. This worked great until this week, the individual blog titles disappeared.
The code used is

You can create a separate page. For example you had your posts on a page called Blog Posts and you want to move your posts to a new page called ”News”. Then all you need to do is create a News page in WordPress. Go to Settings – Reading and select that page as your blog page. You can also create a custom page with a custom query to load only the specific posts on that page.

You can add categories to your sidebar, from Appearance » Widgets screen. Click on Categories widget and drag and drop it to a sidebar and then preview your website. You can also add categories to your website’s navigation menu from Appearance » Menus screen.

How do I get my blog posts to be housed under /blog/ (e.g. http://www.website.com/blog/blog-post-name)? If I write a post, I can’t do this and if I write a page, then it doesn’t function like a blog post (e.g. Not categorized, no date, no author).

I have been using a WP theme called Customizr, and I haven’t figure it out how to get my blog up and running (I believe it’s a problem with the template, but it could just be me not knowing how to do it). Anyway, I will give it a try to the categories suggestion above, but is there a way to create a child page template that allows to get the posts into a page, if it doesn’t come with the theme? The categories option works, but I don’t like how the page looks, which again I think it depends on the theme you use. In mine, it basically shows a big Archive title at the beginning of the page, which doesn’t help much. Any feedback here is appreciated. Thanks.

I used to have my blogs appear on a bespoke web page i.e. /whats-new/blog but after having a wordpress update they stopped appearing on the whats-new page but on a new page on their own i.e. /blog.
i tried what you’ve outlined above but cant get it to revert. Am i missing something?

There could be quite a few reasons for that. First of all you should update your permalinks and see if this fixes the problem. If you are using a custom theme with homepage settings, then you should check those settings.

Nice one. Could you please suggest one or more themes that come with pages for blog posts, What I want is to be able to list topics of blogs related to every page on the page. For instance, I want to create pages for cars, boats and bikes. I want to have mysite.com/cars, mysite.com/boats, etc and I want blogs for each page listed accordingly. You can easily do that by using categories. For example, you can publish posts in cars and boats categories and then add those categories to your WordPress Navigation menus from Appearance » Menus screen
