I den här artikeln visar vi dig hur du utvald en page i WordPress.
Det första du behöver göra är att installera och aktivera pluginet Feature A Page Widget. Efter aktivering går du helt enkelt till Appearance ” Widgets där du kommer att notera en new widget som heter ’Feature a Page Widget’. Därefter drar och släpper du widgeten till en sidebar.
Det första alternativet i widgetens Settings är att välja en widgettitel. Du kan lämna den tom om du vill. För det andra måste du välja en page som du vill utvald från rullgardinsmenyn.
Så snart du väljer en page kommer widgeten att visa dig sidans status. Den kommer att kontrollera om det finns en thumbnail (featured image) och ett excerpt.
Om din page ej har dem kommer widgeten att markera dem med röd färg. You can click on the pencil icon which will open the page in the post editor where you can set a thumbnail and excerpt.
Om du inte ser metarutan Excerpt när du redigerar sidan måste du aktivera den. Click on the Screen Options button on the top right corner of the screen. En rullgardinsmeny visas och du måste helt enkelt kontrollera boxen bredvid Excerpt.
Rulla nu ner till metarutan för excerpt som finns under post editor.
När din page har både excerpt och thumbnail kan du välja en layout för ditt widget. För närvarande erbjuder den tre val av layout. Wrapped image layout kommer att visa din sida thumbnail omsluten med excerpt. Alternativet banner image layout kommer att visa din thumbnail image högst upp på excerptet. Slutligen kommer alternativet för layout för stor bild att visa en större version av imagen högst upp på excerptet av din page.
När du har valt ett alternativ för layouten kan du clicka på knappen Save för att store dina inställningar för widgetar.
Det var all, du kan nu previewa din website för att se din utvalda page i WordPress. Kom ihåg att du kan add to flera widgetar för utvalda sidor i dina sidebars. Du kan också visa eller dölja widgetar på specifika pages i WordPress.

One thought as an idea..
Allow admin to set posts/pages a ’Featured Post Of The Day’ as a popup where they can select at time intervals, Day, Month, Banner, Except, Link URL.
We don’t use sidebar widgets that much so having an ability to allow this as a popup on target pages would be a bonus!

I’m glad to hear you like the plugin! (It’s always appreciated if you can leave a review saying as much!)
Since the plugin’s focus is on *Pages*, date-driven features are low on the priority list. The most likely would be a ”Most Recent Post” option if anything.
As for using the widget as a popup, I’d encourage you to explore plugins that allow for Widgets in pages or give you a widget shortcode. That’s always my recommendation for getting Feature a Page Widget into non-sidebar locations.

Mark the plugin’s developer here again. I’m happy to belatedly announce that 2.0.0 is now officially available in the plugin repository!
The new version includes a ton of great new features:
– Allows you to feature posts of any post type. Pages and Posts are enabled by default.
– New advanced options allow you to hide the Page Title, Feature Image, and Excerpt or add a ”Read More” link.
– Improved interface makes more sense and better matches the current admin styles.
– New templating system uses separate files for each layout and is much easier to modify.
– New filters allow for more control over the widget output.

I installed the plugin and set up the widget, but my excerpt is transposed, displaying vertically down the page. Can you help me fix it?

nicely done, used this in my site, how can you disable sharing buttons within the featured box, without disabling them on each page, which are showing up, using shareaholic? Have you heard of this one?
