Vad är Swifty Bar och hur ökar det engagemanget hos användarna?
Swifty Bar är ett plugin för WordPress som addar en (fast)klistrat inlägg längst ner i dina posts. Denna footer bar visar inläggets kategori, auktorisering, och links för att dela posten på sociala media.
Det visar också den beräknade tiden att läsa ett post med en förloppsindikator som rör sig framåt när användaren rullar ner i ett post.
De flesta sociala delningsknappar döljs när användare rullar ner för att läsa en artikel. Link till kommentarer, auktorisering och kategorier är inte heller synliga när man rullar i en artikel.
Det är därför användare lämnar din page utan att engagera sig i innehållet på något sätt.
Det finns tillägg som kan add to sticky floating social bar högst upp i dina WordPress inlägg. Men Swifty bar tar det till nästa nivå eftersom det också ger information om kategorier och författare.
Det är helt responsivt och ser bra ut på mobila enheter.
Settings för Swifty Bar
Det första du behöver göra är att installera och aktivera Swifty Bar plugin. När du har aktiverat måste du besöka Settings ” Swifty Bar page för att konfigurera plugin-inställningarna.
Det första alternativet på sidan Settings är att inaktivera baren. Se till att den är avmarkerad. Det här alternativet finns bara här för debug-ändamål.
Det viktigaste alternativet är att välja ”Visa på vilka post typer”. Se till att du väljer posts, annars kommer fältet ej att visas på din site. Om du använder andra custom post typer så kommer de att visas här också.
Resten av alternativen är alla självförklarande. Standard alternativen skulle fungera för de flesta webbplatser, men du kan ändra dem om du behöver.
Swifty bar kommer med 7 inbyggda färgscheman att välja mellan. You need to choose a color scheme that compliments your WordPress theme’s color scheme.
Du kan också inaktivera funktioner i Swifty Bar från Enable/Disable Swifty Bar Modules section. Kontrollera bara boxen bredvid en modul, så kommer den att inaktiveras. Detta är viss användbart om du inte vill visa ett visst socialt nätverk i din Swift Bar.
Glöm inte att clicka på knappen save changes för att store dina settings. You can now visit any post on your website to see the Swifty Bar in action.

Don’t know if this comment thread is still active but I’ll post anyway. I LOVE this plugin. The only issue is the next post card that shows up on mobile. It creates an unnecessary distraction to the on-page text, and you can’t disable it (there’s no option to close it). Any chance it can be fixed?

Giving this a try, if i could have it my way the bar would ”auto-hide” until a bit of scrolling happened, and I really wish I could remove the Author option from the plugin.

you should be able to remove author option inside ”Enable/Disable” modules tab.
I like idea of auto hiding before scroll happens, will implement.

Hi Dahlia,
not yet. There are plans for premium version which will include shares on pages also. Should be out in 2-3 weeks. The issue is that for pages, lots of additional items should not be supported, like prev/next buttons, author name and categories, so whats left is page title, time to read and share buttons.

Hey my plugin is on my favorite wordpress website
Thank you wpbeginner team for featuring swifty bar. The idea behind swifty and my other plugins was to give something back to the wp community as i make a living thanks to wordpress. So i am trying to push one free but high quality plugin each month.
On the day that you published article i pushed update which also added share counter for each social network, twitter ”via” tag and a bit of design change. I am also saving share counts in transients, and updating only after new share click so its pretty fast as there is no request to the social apis on each load.
Also plenty of more options comming soon, but still with the idea of keeping it light and fast.
Btw. I learned wordpress couple of years ago via this website

Does Swifty Bar take into consideration the issue with Facebook picking up the incorrect blog image from WordPress posts? Or, would SEO by Yoast still have to be added as well?

We don’t think it adds open graph meta data into your website. Yes, you should still keep adding Facebook image from Yoast SEO’s social tab.
