Det är den nionde fjärde. Den 4 juli för nio år sedan startade jag WPBeginner. Kan inte tro att vi har kommit så långt.
Gillar varje år, jag vill ta några minuter och göra en snabb sammanfattning av alla de stora saker som händer i affärer samt mitt personliga liv.
WPBeginner Story
Jag började använda WordPress när jag var 16 år gammal och startade WPBeginner vid 19 års ålder med ett enda uppdrag: att göra WordPress enkelt för nybörjare.
Sedan dess har WPBeginner blivit den största gratis WordPress resource site för nybörjare.

Personliga updating
Min son Solomon är nu 20 månader gammal. Tiden flyger iväg och han växer upp så fort. Amanda (min fru) och Solomon har följt med mig på många av mina affärsresor, och vi har också gjort flera roliga resor.
Sedan det senaste WPBeginner-jubileumspostet har vi varit i Turkiet, Dubai, Pakistan, Mexiko (Cabo, Punta Mita, Cancun) och Bahamas (två gånger). Solomon deltog också i WordCamp US i Nashville, vilket innebär att han nu har deltagit i totalt 3 WordCamps.
Tidigare i år fick jag utmärkelsen ”outstanding Young Alumnus award” från University of Florida (alma mater). Jag fick också närvara vid collegefotbollsmatchen från President Suite och träffa massor av fantastiska människor.
Jag har börjat arbeta från ett fysiskt kontor 3 dagar i veckan. Detta har varit bra eftersom det tillåter mig att fokusera och få mer gjort. När jag är hemma kan jag också tillbringa mer tid med Solomon. Förra året förstorade jag min portfölj med fastigheter och add to en Wells Fargo-byggnad. Jag har inrättat mitt kontor på en av våningarna och det är trevligt att ha banken som hyresgäst.
WPBeginner uppdateringar
Thank you all, WPBeginner har fortsatt att växa med tvåsiffriga procenttal (år över år). Det har skett flera anmärkningsvärda updating från förra året, som jag gillar att lyfta fram.
1. Vi passerade 100 000 prenumeranter på YouTube
Ett av mina mål förra året var att passera 100 000 prenumeranter på YouTube innan jag skriver det här jubileumsinlägget. Vi gjorde det.
Vi är nu uppe i över 102 000 prenumeranter och våra videoklipp har över 10 miljoner views.

Nu väntar jag bara på att få min 3:e YouTube play knapp 
Jag har en Gold Play-knapp och Silver Play-knapp från min andra website, List25 som har över 2,3 miljoner YouTube prenumeranter.
2. SSL och Push Notifications
You might have notice that WPBeginner is now using SSL. Från och med juli markerar Google Chrome alla websites som ej använder SSL som osäkra. Även om vi inte tar emot några Payments på WPBeginner så har vi gått vidare med förändringen eftersom vi värdesätter våra läsares säkerhet.

Som en del av att lägga till SSL, lade vi också till Push Notifications till WPBeginner. Du kanske redan har lagt märke till notifikationen om att prenumerera. Det är ett bra sätt att hålla sig uppdaterad med new posts och guider från WPBeginner.
3. Granskning och omskrivningar
Ett av våra mål i år är att göra en stor content audit av våra äldre inlägg. WPBeginner har över 2000+ gratis WordPress tutorials. Vi har förstorat vårt team så att vi kan uppdatera våra äldre inlägg i tid.
Vi förbereder oss också för en stor översyn av content när Gutenberg lanseras. Detta kommer att bli en stor utmaning för oss senare i år.
4. Förbättrad infrastruktur för WPBeginners server
Nästan varannan vecka får jag ett email från en användare som frågar om hemligheterna bakom WPBeginners blixtsnabba hastighet. Svaret är infrastruktur och caching.
I takt med att WPBeginner växer måste vi kontinuerligt investera i infrastrukturen för våra servrar. Vårt webbhotell för WordPress, HostGator, har arbetat för att bygga en helt custom infrastruktur som är spridd över flera datacenter för att säkerställa hög tillgänglighet. Under det senaste året har de förbättrat vår hårdvara samt förbättrat lagret för caching som vi använder på webbplatsen.
Jag har varit kund hos HostGator sedan 2007, och WPBeginner har varit hosted hos dem sedan dag 1 (se min fullständiga HostGator review). Jag vill tacka hela deras team som hjälpte oss med uppgraderingen.
Obs/observera: WPBeginner använder HostGators flera dedikerade servrar (inte delade webbhotell).
Högst upp på HostGator använder vi också Sucuri för vår web application firewall och MaxCDN som vår CDN provider, båda spelar en stor roll i vår totala hastighet på vår website.

Uppdateringar av produkter
Det förvånar mig fortfarande när jag hör folk säga: ”Jag visste inte att WPBeginner låg bakom den där produkten”. Vi har till och med en page med produkter i main menu på vår website.

Do you recall that a couple of plugins that were in the WP repository were bought and sold and that the buyer inserted malicious code into the plugins? Now whenever I think about using a plugin, I look to see its history, who makes it, any warning bells, etc.
