WordPress 3.9 Beta 1 släpptes igår. Detta är en större release, utvecklad enligt tillägg-som-funktioner-utvecklingsmodellen. I den här artikeln kommer vi att visa dig vilka utvalda funktioner som kommer i WordPress 3.9 tillsammans med screenshots. WordPress 3.9 är fortfarande i beta, så vissa av dessa funktioner kanske inte kommer med i den slutliga utgåvan.

Live Widget Previews i Theme Customizer
Med WordPress 3.9 kommer du att kunna se live previews av widgetar i theme customize. Widget Customizer kommer att allow you to edit widgets, rearrange them, and even add new widgets.
Den spännande delen är att du kan se allt detta hända i rutan för live preview på samma vy. I de tidigare versionerna av WordPress kunde användare redigera de flesta utvalda temafunktioner från skärmen Customize, förutom widgetar. Nu med den här funktionen ser theme customizer komplett och mycket kraftfullare ut. Om du undrar kommer den gamla vyn Widgets fortfarande att finnas kvar, så att du kan hantera widgetar på det gamla sättet också.
För att prova den här funktionen kan du installera och aktivera pluginet Widget Customizer. Efter aktivering går du helt enkelt till Appearance ” Customize, där du kommer att notera en Widgets section för varje widget ready area och sidebar som stöds av ditt theme.
Ljud / Video Playlists
Med WordPress 3.9 kommer användare att kunna skapa playlists för ljud och videoklipp. Ljud-/video-playlists kommer att fungera som en shortcode precis som gallerier med images. Du kommer att kunna uploada flera ljud/videofiler och add to dem som en playlist direkt från WordPress media uploader.
WordPress kommer också att försöka få fram det attachmentade mediets cover och albuminformation med hjälp av ID3-taggarna, men detta kommer att falla under en theme-funktion. Det kommer att vara en mycket användbar funktion för WordPress Themes för band och musiker.
TinyMCE aka Visual Editor Updated
Visual Editor i WordPress är baserad på TinyMCE editor som är en annan open source-programvara. TinyMCE släppte senaste en större update till mjukvaran, så i denna release kommer WordPress TinyMCE att uppdateras. Denna update resulterade i många förbättringar i Visual Editor. Faktum är att du kan säga att WordPRess 3.9 är inriktad på att förbättra skriv- och edit-upplevelsen i WordPress. Några av dessa förbättringar är:
You will be able to see live gallery previews in the visual editor. När du addar ett gallery till dina posts kommer images att visas i ett beautiful grid direkt i post editor.
You can also drag and drop images to the editor directly, and they will be automatically uploaded (this is pretty awesome).
Många fler förbättringar görs för att lägga till och redigera images medan du skriver ett post. Likes om du vill cropa och edit en image medan du skriver ett post, behöver du inte öppna ett annat fönster för det. Du kan göra det direkt genom att clicka på en image och resize den genom att dra i handtagen i hörnet.
Att klistra in text direkt från Microsoft Word resulterar ej i konstiga tecken. Du behöver inte längre trycka på knappen ”Klistra in från Word”. Vi är säkra på att många Beginnare kommer att bli glada att höra det.
Förbättrad vy för Add New Theme
You will also notice further improvements in Themes screen. Det kommer att finnas ett nytt, snyggt och elegant användargränssnitt för att add new themes i WordPress. Det hämtar screenshot av de utvalda teman. Du kan också klicka på tabs för att växla mellan populära taggar, filtrera och searcha efter nya themes från den officiella theme directory.
För utvecklare
Notis: Förutom de anmärkningsvärda funktionerna ovan fanns det flera uppdateringar under huven som våra användare som är utvecklare kan ha nytta av. Under är de två som vi var intresserade av:
- WordPress Image Crop position – Fram till nu har ytterligare storlekar på images cropats för att centreras horisontellt och vertikalt. I den senaste utgåvan kommer det att finnas en position för image crop som kommer att allow utvecklare att bestämma positionen för crop.(#19393)
- Autospara omarbetat – Autospara hade många ”rörliga delar” och genom åren har många ytterligare funktioner ”fästs” på den. I WordPress 3.6 flyttades de flesta av de ytterligare funktionerna till Heartbeat, gillar utloggad varning, nonces update, etc. I den här versionen flyttas save av data för posts över till heartbeat som ursprungligen planerat.(#25272)

In the last 2 version 3.8 and 3.9 I see WP deliver good update.
But I hope it will be continued like this.
We need WP to be more for website development instead of mostly for blogging.
– Remove the date month and year folder and make it global folder
– Support mobile more and more. including the admin
– Keep improving the security
– Add built in Form and other standard things

They’ve started rolling out some of the beta changes, and the new (less flexible in practice) image editor is causing massive negativity. Check out the forums… not as good as it initially appeared. Hm, let’s hope the beta really is a beta…

The new WordPress 3.9 is really exciting enough. I really the editor part, the new updates of TinyMCE is really great and specially the drag n drop and instant image crop. Hope there is also some work done on core editor part of it.

Biggest thing I’m excited to see is the ability to choose the crop position when registering new image sizes. I can’t begin to tell you how many time’s I’ve wanted to do that. I’m also happy to see the Paste From Word button going by the wayside. One less thing to warn clients about is always a plus! I’m not sure whats up with the new UI for themes. Was it really that bad?! Maybe they have something else up their sleeve for WP 4 that this will play into.

The Media Library update began with a Core Plugin project.
– A grid view was created.
– Tags were added in (later commented out in the code).
Development stopped because the lack of developer contribution. If your interested in checking out the Core Project (features as plugin).

The live widget preview is my favorite feature of new wordpress version. because I’ve created a plugin for add widgets to menu items and now I can to change settings of the menu widgets by theme customizer. This is awesome, Thanks Syed Balkhi.
