As bloggers, marketers, and small business owners, finding the right video hosting site can be a challenge.

After extensive reviewing, the biggest lesson we learned is that not every video hosting platform is created equal and has its own pros and cons. We are running the WPBeginner channel on YouTube for over a decade ago and we have more than half a million followers.

We tested YouTube and other video sites over the years and YouTube is our top choice among all video hosting platforms.

In this article, we will share some of the best video hosting sites for bloggers, marketers, and business owners.

How We Test And Review Video Hosting Sites?

Videos are the most engaging form of content and are highly effective for conversions. However, they also take up a lot of space and bandwidth.

WordPress is not optimized for videos and the visual medium consumes a lot of WordPress hosting resources, which can slow down your site speed. This can result in a negative user experience and a drop in search results rankings.

To learn more, see our guide on why you should never upload videos to WordPress.

We recommend using a video hosting site instead. They have more server resources to serve video files, and you don’t have to worry about WordPress performance.

When we tested the most popular ones, we paid special to the following criteria:

Ease of Use: We have prioritized video hosting sites that are easy to use for beginners and do not require any coding experience. We have also tried to include tools that have a free plan.

Features: An ideal video hosting site should have features like video management, high-quality streaming, playlists, analytics, and video editing.

Reliability: We have only recommended tools that we have tested ourselves on real websites.

1. YouTube

YouTube

YouTube is the most popular video hosting website on the internet. It allows you to upload videos, create channels, and build a following.

As a marketer and business owner, you would want to capitalize on YouTube’s huge potential. It is the world’s second most popular search engine and the second biggest social media website, with 2.1 billion active users.

You can build a YouTube following with your channel, find a new audience, get featured in video search results, and grow your business.

YouTube has a Partners Program that you can join to earn money online from your videos. This program also offers more benefits like analytics, longer videos, and video editing tools.

Premium members can also sell or rent videos to earn money online from your Vimeo video.

We use Vimeo to host private videos for our exclusive members-only area. If you have a membership site or you want to create and sell online courses, then Vimeo is an excellent option.

DailyMotion also offers a monetization program where you can earn money and get more features as a partner.

7. SproutVideo

Sprout Video

You will need to get the embed code for each video and use the Custom HTML block to add video code.

YouTube is the best platform for video hosting as it gives tons of options for you to make customisation options.
for embedding on websites, we can delist the video on YouTube and then embed the link, this way we can prevent from appearing in YouTube search results.
Thanks for all the options and their comparative analysis.

I think there are many more benefits of using YouTube in terms of seo and ranking.
since it is not only a video platform but also the second largest search engine and is only second to Google.
using its interface and doing seo can improve the overall seo and ranking of the website through YouTube.
        Thanks for the response.

If you want to have a paid videos on your site, how do you prevent users from getting the direct link to the YT/Video/others that they will share with others? AFAIK YT and other video platforms offer just private links, no special protection.

    • WPBeginner Support

For protecting videos like that, you would want to take a look at services like Vimeo that can limit where a video can be accessed.
