Difference Between WordPress Theme vs. Template

A WordPress theme comes with all the basic features and layout design to make a website, blog, or online store.

On the other hand, a template is a layout for a specific page or part of a website. You can use the template to design custom web and landing pages easily.

I create 90% of websites on Elementor. I’ve gotten so used to it that I only really use Gutenberg when necessary. Thank you for the list of templates that I will be able to choose from for my next project and I will know that they are perfectly compatible with Elementor.

I have seen elementor grow from the very first year it was launched back in 2017.
It has grown tremendously in this span of time and powering thousands of websites now.
Due to its flexibility and easy to use interface, it became very powerful.
initially, I made almost all my websites and client websites on elementor but when I realised the slow speed of the website, I decided not use and completely abandoned.
I don’t know the speed optimisation of this plugin but nevertheless elementor is wonderful.
what might be the reason for much complaint about elementor website speed ?

    • WPBeginner Support

There were users who ran into speed related issues on their site previously using Elementor but without auditing the individual sites it is hard to say the specific cause for the slowdown.

In my opinion, it often comes down to the overall tuning of the website and the combination of Elementor with poorly chosen plugins. I build websites using Elementor, and I haven’t encountered any issues with slow performance. However, I am very careful with my selection of plugins and the optimization of the website and caching plugins. If someone neglects these aspects, the website built with Elementor can indeed become slow, but the question is whether Elementor itself is to blame. I don’t think so, and I base this on my own experience, having built around 11 websites with it. To this day, all of them are performing well within the green metrics.
