I use Smash Balloon and also social sharing buttons for sharing my content on Facebook. I see social media as a great platform through which my blog articles can spread freely, with users easily sharing them. Regarding Smash Balloon, I have a Facebook page for my blog where I occasionally post information that isn’t on the website. Thanks to this plugin, the entire Facebook feed is displayed on the blog, so visitors don’t miss out on any information I only share on Facebook. This creates a perfect symbiosis between the blog and social media. Smash Balloon is an amazing plugin, and in addition to Facebook, it supports other social media platforms as well. For me, it’s a fantastic tool for connecting these two worlds—websites and social media.

I’m kind of intrigued here. How do these plugins affect performance? I’ve found anything to do with Facebook has a lot of very slow .js requests that really slow pages down.
So I no longer use social sharing buttons through plugins and have custom css to do the job. Which is must faster.
That said a lot of these look useful for my sites, but can this functionality be implemented without slowing sites massively?
