Nowy iPad Apple robi furorę jak każdy inny produkt tej firmy. W ciągu jednego dnia sprzedano ponad 700 000 egzemplarzy. WordPress ogłosił nową wersję swojej aplikacji o nazwie WordPress for iPhone/iPad OS 2.4. Jest to pierwsza wersja aplikacji WordPress, która jest zgodna [może być też „kompatybilna”] z iPadem firmy Apple.
Do aplikacji nie zostały utworzone żadne nowe funkcje. Było to pierwsze wydanie aplikacji WordPress bez dodatkowych funkcji. Wszystko, co można zrobić w WordPress 2.3 na iPhone’a, można zrobić na iPadzie – ale z interfejsem zaprojektowanym tak, aby wykorzystać powiększoną powierzchnię nowego ekranu.
Dzięki nowej aplikacji i dużemu ekranowi iPada możesz teraz korzystać z większej klawiatury ekranowej (lub użyć zewnętrznej klawiatury) do wpisywania większych wpisów. Z pewnością ułatwi to pisanie dłuższych wpisów na blogu. Możesz również moderować, edytować lub odpowiadać na komentarze. Duży ekran ułatwi szybką moderację dużych komentarzy.
W tej wersji włączono również tagi geograficzne. Jeśli chcesz, możesz poinformować użytkowników, skąd pochodzi twój wpis. Funkcja ta działa jednak tylko z iPadem w wersji 3G.

The ipad is a great wanna have gadget, but i seriously believe that all those apps, even apps in general have no real future. Yeah the ipad is creating another buzz but keeping track of all those different platforms to create apps for them is killing apps in general. Html and css will take over, especially if you look at their development and cross platform usage.. and are easy capable and usable for creating online apps. I think that should be a goal.

I think iPad will be great and with your screenshots, blogging will be easy with that Apple device too.

I’m not impressed with the IPad, I’d rather see more work on WordPress Android applications.

Thanks for the review, guys! I’m interested to see what we’re able to do in the future with image alignment, rich text editing, and lots of other stuff. You guys should make sure you’re not serving your mobile theme to the iPad, though — your normal design looks great on it.

These screens are so awesome, I wish I had an iPad to mess around with! I tried updating Inside the Webb a few times from my iPhone and the app there works well, but the iPad has so much more room for edits and typing.
