WordPress 4.2の新規文字と絵文字のサポート
絵文字は、携帯電話を含むすべての最新端末でネイティブに利用できます。WordPressは絵文字をネイティブサポートしていませんでした。WordPress 4.2では、絵文字のネイティブサポートを追加することで問題を解決しました。WordPressサイトのどこでも絵文字を使用できるようになりました。
絵文字のサポートは、中国語、日本語、韓国語の文字のネイティブサポートを追加するために行われた基礎作業によって可能になりました。WordPress 4.2 は自動的に utf-8 データベースを utf8mb4 に切り替えます。この変更により、音楽記号や数学記号、さらには象形文字も使用できるようになります。
多くのユーザーは絵文字のサポートにそれほど興奮しないかもしれませんが、より多くの言語の文字がサポートされることは、非常にグローバルなWordPressユーザーにとって大きな改善です。
プラグイン更新の高速化
プラグインの更新には、更新リンクをクリックし、更新の進捗状況を示すページがロードされるのを待つ必要があった。そして更新が終わると、何をしていたとしてもその作業に移ることができた。WordPress 4.2では、ワンクリックでプラグインの更新ができるようになりました。
以前、 WordPress 4.2で実装される機能の投稿で、より高速なプラグインインストール機能をご紹介しました。これは更新機能と似ていますが、ページをリロードすることなくプラグインをインストールできる機能でした。この機能はベータ版ではドロップされました。
より多くの自動埋め込み
YouTube動画や ツイート、その他多くのサービスと同様に、TumblrとKickstarterもWordPressのoEmbedホワイトリストに登録されました。Tumblr や Kickstarter からのリンクを貼り付けると、自動的に投稿に埋め込まれるようになりました。
カスタマイザーでのテーマ切り替え
WordPress 4.2ではカスタマイザーが大幅に改善されました。テーマカスタマイザーから直接テーマを切り替えて変更できるようになりました。これにより、ユーザーはテーマを有効化することなく、素早くテーマをプレビューし、カスタマイズすることが可能になります。
アンダー・ザ・フッドの変更
サーバーへのJavaScript呼び出しによって生成されたメッセージは、スクリーンリーダーで読めるようになりました。プラグイン投稿者や開発者は、wp.a11y.speak()を使って音声による通知を送ることができます。
複数のタクソノミーで共有されているキーワードは、そのうちの1つが更新されたときに分割されるようになりました。
WP_Query、WP_Comment_Query、WP_User_Queryで、メタ情報を使った複雑な順序付けがサポートされました。
WordPressの初期設定の配色が少し変更されました。

After this update traffic of my blog dropped to 50%. What could be the reason for it and how to restore the traffic. Bounce rate also increased heavily. Pl advice.

WordPress 4.2 nicknamed Powel is all about better efficiency and communication.
I say this because, updating plugins doesn’t load another screen and themes can be changed in the Customizer with instant preview.
Also support for Emoji means we can write more posts that are fun and humorous. The final version of WP 4.2 has better character support too, now native Chinese users can use WordPress to build their sites and blogs.
The Press This functionality has improved that fetches the title, images, videos etc. easily from the page you are on and post it right on your blog.

so I had a plugin which used the wp_head hook to enqueue style and after the update the link tag was added before the javascript after the content of my page … I also started having issues with javascript errors in the contact form 7 plugin and the WP-poll. Thought I’d share this.

That’s really hats off addition, Slowly and steady WordPress is adding all those option which are the one step ahead of the basic need. These fanny addition and updated support makes WordPress a Darling CMS although.
