Se siete un webmaster e sapete qualcosa di SEO, allora dovreste sapere che avere una Sitemap su un sito web può essere molto utile. Esistono due tipi di Sitemap che si possono creare. Una è una Sitemap XML e l’altra è una Sitemap HTML. In questo articolo condivideremo i plugin di WordPress necessari per creare una Sitemap XML e per creare una Sitemap HTML.
La Sitemap aiuta i bot dei motori di ricerca a trovare ogni pagina di ricerca sul vostro sito. Si tratta di una pagina che contiene tutti gli URL del vostro sito, quindi conterrà tutte le pagine che potete immaginare. Ci sono pro e contro nell’avere entrambi i tipi di sitemap. Il motivo per cui dovreste avere una Sitemap XML è che attribuisce frequenza e importanza a ogni pagina, in modo che i bot sappiano esattamente cosa visitare e quale pagina è più importante. Il motivo per cui la Sitemap HTML importa è che è user friendly, a differenza della Sitemap XML.
Per avere una Sitemap XML come la nostra, basta scaricare il plugin chiamato Google XML Sitemaps.
Per avere una Sitemap HTML, dovete scaricare il plugin chiamato HTML Page Sitemap.

Yes because the article was written in 2009. We stopped using that plugin in favor of WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin which has that feature and more built-in.

can you help me with an issue? i keep getting the white screen, even if, when I download the sitemap.xml file from my host I get to see everything ok; it doesn’t want to show me the sitemap. any ideas why?

Im a true believer in Google XML Sitemaps. Its in my ‘install immediately’ plugin list. Havent tried the HTML sitemap, working on custom category feeds, but I bet google loves that one too! great post!
