Google Search Console offre strumenti specifici per i webmaster per aiutare i proprietari di siti web a monitorare e mantenere la loro presenza e le loro classifiche di ricerca.
In questa guida vi mostreremo come aggiungere e verificare facilmente il vostro sito WordPress in Google Search Console, noto anche come Strumenti per i Webmaster.
Che cos’è Google Search Console?
Google Search Console è uno strumento gratuito offerto da Google per aiutare i proprietari di siti web a monitorare la presenza del loro sito nei risultati di ricerca di Google.
Vi aiuta a monitorare le classifiche di ricerca e a tenervi aggiornati sugli errori del sito, sui problemi di sicurezza e di indicizzazione che possono influire sulle prestazioni di ricerca del vostro sito web.
Se siete seriamente interessati alla SEO di WordPress, allora dovete aggiungerlo agli strumenti per i webmaster di Google fin dal primo giorno.
Per questo motivo, vediamo come aggiungere facilmente il vostro sito a Google Search Console.

Aggiunta del sito WordPress a Google Search Console
Innanzitutto, è necessario visitare il sito web di Google Search Console e fare clic sul pulsante “Inizia ora”.
Successivamente, è necessario effettuare l’accesso con il proprio account Google/Gmail.
Una volta effettuato l’accesso, vi verrà chiesto di inserire l’URL del vostro sito web.
Esistono due metodi per la verifica del sito: il nome di dominio o il prefisso URL. Consigliamo il metodo del prefisso URL perché è più flessibile.
Tenete presente che Google considera HTTP e HTTPS come due protocolli diversi. Inoltre, considera https://www.example.com e https://example.com come due siti web diversi.
È necessario inserire l’URL corretto del sito web utilizzato da WordPress.
Se non siete sicuri, c’è un modo semplice per scoprire l’URL esatto da inserire. Basta accedere all’area di amministrazione di WordPress e andare alla pagina Impostazioni ” Generale.
L’URL del vostro sito web è riportato nel campo dell’indirizzo del sito.
Dopo aver inserito l’indirizzo corretto del sito web nella procedura guidata di impostazione degli strumenti per i webmaster di Google, fare clic sul pulsante “Continua” per passare alla fase successiva.
Ora vi verrà chiesto di verificare la proprietà del vostro sito web. Ci sono diversi modi per farlo, ma noi mostreremo il metodo del tag HTML perché è il più semplice.
Fare clic sul tag HTML per espanderlo e copiare il codice al suo interno.
Ora è necessario aggiungere il meta tag Google site verification in WordPress, in modo che Google possa verificare che siete il proprietario del sito web.
La maggior parte dei tutorial di WordPress vi guiderà a modificare il file header.php del vostro tema WordPress e ad aggiungere il codice appena sopra il tag <body>.
Tuttavia, non raccomandiamo questo metodo perché se si aggiorna o si cambia il tema, il tag HTML scomparirà.
Google verifica periodicamente la presenza del tag HTML e disabilita l’accesso ai dati del sito nella Search Console se non trova il tag di verifica.
Ecco come assicurarsi che Google possa sempre verificare la vostra proprietà del sito web.
Per prima cosa, è necessario installare e attivare il plugin All in One SEO. Per maggiori dettagli, consultate la nostra guida passo passo su come installare un plugin di WordPress.
Dopo l’attivazione, accedere alla pagina All in One SEO ” Impostazioni generali ” Strumenti per i Webmaster e fare clic su “Google Search Console”.
Quindi incollate il codice copiato da Google Search Console nella casella “Codice di verifica Google”.
Non dimenticate di fare clic sul pulsante “Salva modifiche” per memorizzare le modifiche.
Ora è possibile tornare alle impostazioni di Google Search Console e fare clic sul pulsante “Verifica”.
Google Search Console cercherà ora il tag HTML nel codice del vostro sito web e vi mostrerà un messaggio di successo.
Nota: se non viene visualizzato un messaggio di successo, è necessario cancellare la cache di WordPress. In questo modo Google potrà recuperare la versione più recente del vostro sito web.
È tutto. Avete aggiunto con successo il vostro sito a Google Search Console (Strumenti per i Webmaster). Ora potete cliccare sul link “Vai alla proprietà” per visitare la vostra dashboard di Google Search Console.
Da qui è possibile vedere i rapporti sulle prestazioni del sito e la copertura dell’indice.
Prima di fare questo, raccontiamo a Google qualcosa di più sul vostro sito web. Questo aiuterà Google a effettuare il crawling del vostro sito in modo più efficiente.
Aggiungere una Sitemap XML a Google Search Console
Una sitemap XML è un file che elenca tutti i contenuti del vostro sito web in formato XML, in modo che i motori di ricerca come Google possano facilmente scoprire e indicizzare i vostri contenuti.
La buona notizia è che se avete installato il plugin All in One SEO nei passaggi precedenti, avete già aggiunto automaticamente una sitemap XML al vostro sito.
Per vedere la vostra sitemap, andate su All in One SEO ” Sitemaps. Da qui si può vedere che la sitemap è abilitata automaticamente.
Successivamente, è necessario ottenere il link alla sitemap XML. È sufficiente fare clic sul pulsante “Apri Sitemap” per visualizzare un link alla sitemap XML.
Da qui è sufficiente copiare l’URL dalla barra degli indirizzi del browser.
In alternativa, è possibile accedere direttamente alla sitemap XML aggiungendo sitemap.xml alla fine dell’indirizzo del sito web. Ad esempio:
https://www.example.com/sitemap.xml
Ora che la sitemap XML è pronta, aiutiamo Google a trovarla rapidamente.
È sufficiente passare alla dashboard di Google Search Console e fare clic sul menu Sitemaps nella colonna di sinistra.
Successivamente, è necessario aggiungere l’ultima parte dell’URL della sitemap nella sezione “Aggiungi nuova sitemap” e fare clic sul pulsante Invia.
Google aggiungerà ora l’URL della sitemap alla Google Search Console.

I’m having a problem verifying with Google that I own my website (and I do, and have since 2012). When I log into my GoDaddy account INSIDE the Google verification page, it rejects my password, yet, at that exact same time, I’m logged into GoDaddy with no problem.
Oh, and the instructions inside the Google verification are outdated. For starters, there’s no LAUNCH button in GoDaddy any more.
Not being a computer guru, I’m pretty much stymied and don’t know what to do now.

If you register domain in GoDaddy then it’s easier, Webmaster tool is integrated with Godaddy then when you click veryfy, it will ask you to login to your Godaddy account and everything is automatically processed.

Maria, first thing you should note down is that your website’s URL is the one you see in WordPress Admin area under Settings >> General. So whenever you are submitting your website anywhere use the URL in your WordPress settings.
Also note that www and non-www URLs are not the same. WWW is actually a subdomain. Eventhough search engines are smart enough to understand that example.com and http://www.example.com could mean the same. However, due to the technicalities they need to differentiate between the two and take them as two different locations.
We would recommend you to start over. Delete your site from Google webmaster tools and then add it again. Hope this helps.

For Bing, Yahoo, Alexa The process is pretty same, after signing-up for webmaster’s you’ll provided with a code to be pasted in your header.php and the get verified. I don’t think there is any such requirement for pinterest. Just make a pinterest account, link with your website and you are ready to go.
