Historia de WPBeginner
Empecé a usar WordPress cuando tenía 16 años y fundé WPBeginner a los 19 con una única misión: hacer WordPress fácil para los principiantes.
Desde entonces WPBeginner se ha convertido en el mayor sitio de recursos gratuitos de WordPress para principiantes.

Actualizaciones personales
Mi hijo, Solomon, tiene ahora 20 meses. El tiempo vuela y está creciendo muy rápido. Amanda (mi esposa) y Solomon me han acompañado en muchos de mis viajes de negocios, y también hemos hecho varios viajes divertidos.
Desde la última entrada del aniversario de WPBeginner, hemos estado en Turquía, Dubai, Pakistán, México (Cabo, Punta Mita, Cancún), y Bahamas (dos veces). Salomón también asistió a WordCamp EE.UU. en Nashville que lleva su WordCamp cuenta de asistencia a un total de 3.
A principios de este año, recibí el premio al mejor joven alumno de la Universidad de Florida (alma mater). También tuve la oportunidad de asistir al partido de fútbol de la universidad de la Suite Presidente y llegó a conocer a un montón de gente increíble.
He empezado a trabajar en una oficina física tres días a la semana. Esto ha sido genial porque me permite concentrarme y hacer más cosas. Además, cuando estoy en casa, puedo pasar más tiempo con Solomon. El año pasado, amplié mi porfolio inmobiliario y añadí un edificio de Wells Fargo. He creado mi oficina en una de las plantas, y es agradable tener al banco como inquilino.
Actualizaciones de WPBeginner

1. Superamos los 100.000 suscriptores en YouTube
Uno de mis objetivos del año pasado era superar los 100.000 suscriptores en YouTube antes de escribir esta entrada de aniversario. Lo conseguimos.
Ahora tenemos más de 102.000 suscriptores y nuestros vídeos tienen más de 10 millones de visitas.

Ahora sólo estoy esperando a conseguir mi tercer botón de reproducción de YouTube 
Tengo un botón de reproducción de oro y un botón de reproducción de plata de mi otro sitio web, List25, que tiene más de 2,3 millones de suscriptores en YouTube.
2. SSL y avisos instantáneos
Puede que hayas avisado de que WPBeginner ahora utiliza SSL. A partir de julio, Google Chrome está marcando todos los sitios web que no utilizan SSL como inseguros. A pesar de que no cobramos ningún pago en WPBeginner, seguimos adelante con el cambio porque valoramos la seguridad de nuestros lectores.

3. Auditoría y Reescritura
Uno de nuestros objetivos de este año es hacer una importante auditoría de contenido de nuestras entradas más antiguas. WPBeginner tiene más de 2000 tutoriales gratuitos de WordPress. Hemos ampliado nuestro equipo, por lo que podemos poner al día nuestras entradas más antiguas de manera oportuna.
También nos estamos preparando para una importante revisión de contenido una vez que se lance Gutenberg. Esto va a ser un gran reto para nosotros a finales de este año.
4. Infraestructura de servidor de WPBeginner mejorada
Cada dos semanas, recibo un correo electrónico de un usuario preguntando acerca de los secretos detrás de la velocidad de WPBeginner. La respuesta es la infraestructura y el almacenamiento en caché.
A medida que WPBeginner crece, necesitamos invertir continuamente en la infraestructura de nuestro servidor. Do you recall that a couple of plugins that were in the WP repository were bought and sold and that the buyer inserted malicious code into the plugins? Now whenever I think about using a plugin, I look to see its history, who makes it, any warning bells, etc.
