Methode 1: Ändern der Schriftgröße mit Hilfe von Überschriften
Wenn Sie nach einer einfachen Möglichkeit suchen, die Schriftgröße mit Hilfe von Überschriften zu ändern, dann ist diese Methode genau das Richtige für Sie.
Die Verwendung von Überschriften in Ihren Inhalten ist eine gute Möglichkeit, die Aufmerksamkeit der Nutzer mit einer größeren Schrift zu erregen.
In den meisten WordPress-Themes sind die Überschriften in einer größeren Schriftart gehalten als der normale Text, so dass Sie Ihre Beiträge und Seiten in Abschnitte unterteilen können.
Überschriften eignen sich auch hervorragend zur Verbesserung der Suchmaschinenoptimierung einer Website, da Suchmaschinen richtigen Überschriften mehr Gewicht beimessen als normalem Absatztext.
Hinzufügen einer Überschrift im Standard-WordPress-Block-Editor
Zunächst müssen Sie einen neuen Beitrag oder eine neue Seite im WordPress-Blockeditor öffnen.
Wenn Sie dort sind, klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche „Block hinzufügen“ (+) in der oberen linken Ecke des Bildschirms, um das Blockmenü zu öffnen.
Von hier aus müssen Sie den Überschriftenblock finden und der Seite/dem Beitrag hinzufügen.
Standardmäßig wird der Block auf Überschrift 2 gesetzt.
Wenn Sie eine Zwischenüberschrift hinzufügen, ist es sinnvoll, die Option „Überschrift 2“ zu wählen.
Wenn Sie dies jedoch ändern möchten, können Sie einfach auf das Dropdown-Menü „H2“ klicken und eine andere Größe auswählen.
Alternativ können Sie die Größe der Überschrift auch über die Blockeinstellungen in der rechten Werkzeugleiste der Ansicht ändern.
Sie können sogar die Farbe der Überschrift, das Aussehen, die Groß- und Kleinschreibung und vieles mehr anpassen.
Wenn Sie fertig sind, vergessen Sie nicht, auf die Schaltfläche „Aktualisieren“ oder „Veröffentlichen“ zu klicken, um Ihre Einstellungen zu speichern.
So fügen Sie eine Überschrift im alten klassischen Editor hinzu
Wenn Sie noch den alten klassischen Editor in WordPress verwenden, können Sie Überschriften über das Dropdown-Menü Absatz hinzufügen.
Markieren Sie zunächst den Text, den Sie in eine Überschrift umwandeln möchten, mit der Maus.
Klicken Sie anschließend auf das Dropdown-Menü „Absatz“ in der oberen linken Ecke und wählen Sie die Größe der Überschrift aus. Sie haben nun erfolgreich die Schriftgröße in eine Überschrift geändert.
Beachten Sie jedoch, dass Sie im klassischen Editor die Größen und Schriftfarben der verschiedenen Überschriftenstile nicht ändern können.
Wenn Sie das tun wollen, müssen Sie das Stylesheet Ihres Themes (style.css) ändern.
Klicken Sie abschließend auf die Schaltfläche „Aktualisieren“ oder „Veröffentlichen“, um Ihre Änderungen zu speichern.
Methode 2: Ändern der Schriftgröße von Text im Block-Editor
Wenn Sie die Standard Schriftgröße des Textes in Ihrem Absatzblock ändern möchten, dann ist diese Methode für Sie geeignet.
Zunächst müssen Sie eine bestehende Seite/einen Beitrag im Gutenberg Editor öffnen.
Klicken Sie dort auf einen beliebigen Absatzblock und wechseln Sie dann im Blockbedienfeld auf der rechten Seite des Bildschirms auf die Registerkarte „Stile“.
Hier müssen Sie eine Schriftgröße aus dem Bereich „Typografie“ auswählen.
Sie können je nach Bedarf die Optionen Small, Medium, Large oder Extra Large wählen.
Wenn Sie Ihren Text wieder auf die ursprüngliche Größe zurücksetzen möchten, können Sie das auch tun, indem Sie auf das Menü mit den drei Punkten neben den Typografieeinstellungen klicken.
Daraufhin öffnet sich ein neues Dropdown-Menü, in dem Sie auf die Option „Zurücksetzen“ klicken müssen.
Darüber hinaus können Sie über dasselbe Dropdown-Menü auch Großbuchstaben, Großbuchstaben, Abstände, Aussehen und vieles mehr hinzufügen.
Danach klicken Sie einfach auf die Schaltfläche „Aktualisieren“ oder „Veröffentlichen“, um Ihre Änderungen zu speichern.
Beachten Sie, dass diese Optionen im älteren klassischen Editor für WordPress nicht verfügbar sind. Wenn Sie sie nutzen möchten, sollten Sie den Wechsel in Erwägung ziehen.
Methode 3: Schriftgröße mit einem Plugin ändern
Wenn Sie die Schriftgröße mithilfe eines Plugins ändern möchten, können Sie diese Methode verwenden.
Zunächst müssen Sie das Plugin Advanced Editor Tools installieren und aktivieren. Detaillierte Anweisungen finden Sie in unserem Leitfaden für Anfänger zur Installation eines WordPress Plugins.
Nach der Aktivierung gibt Ihnen das Plugin mehr Kontrolle über Schriftgröße und Textformatierung sowie eine Reihe anderer Funktionen. Es fügt einen neuen Block „Klassischer Absatz“ hinzu, der alle Formatierungsfunktionen Ihrer Wahl enthält.
Rufen Sie nach der Aktivierung die Seite Einstellungen “ Erweiterte Editor-Tools in der Seitenleiste des WordPress-Administrators auf.
Dort können Sie Formatierungsfunktionen aus dem Bereich „Nicht verwendete Schaltflächen“ einfach per Drag & Drop in den Block „Klassischer Absatz“ ziehen.

Gehen Sie anschließend zum Abschnitt „Optionen“ und aktivieren Sie die Option „Schriftgrößen“, um auf eine größere Anzahl von Schriftgrößen zuzugreifen.
Klicken Sie anschließend einfach auf die Schaltfläche „Änderungen speichern“, um Ihre Einstellungen zu speichern.
Wenn Sie das Plugin mit dem klassischen Editor verwenden, müssen Sie oben auf der Seite zur Registerkarte „Klassischer Editor“ wechseln.
Dort müssen Sie die gleichen Aktionen wie im Blockeditor durchführen.
Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie auf die Schaltfläche „Änderungen speichern“ klicken, nachdem Sie Ihre Änderungen vorgenommen haben.
Um das Plugin in Aktion zu sehen, müssen Sie eine neue oder bestehende Seite bzw. einen Beitrag im WordPress-Dashboard öffnen.
Wenn Sie dort sind, klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche „Block hinzufügen“ (+) in der oberen linken Ecke des Bildschirms, um das Blockmenü zu öffnen.
Von hier aus suchen Sie den Block Klassischer Absatz und fügen ihn der Seite hinzu.
Sie können nun das Dropdown-Menü „Schriftgrößen“ verwenden, um die Größe des Textes im Block „Klassischer Absatz“ zu ändern.

Methode 4: Ändern der seitenweiten Schriftgröße mit WPCode
Wenn Sie die Schriftgröße auf Ihrer gesamten Website ändern möchten, ist diese Methode die richtige für Sie.
Sie können diese Funktion ganz einfach hinzufügen, indem Sie mit WPCode CSS-Code in Ihre Website einfügen.
Es ist das beste WordPress-Code-Snippet-Plugin auf dem Markt, das das Hinzufügen von Code zu Ihrer Website sehr einfach und sicher macht.

Danach blättern Sie zum Abschnitt „Einfügen“ und wählen den Modus „Automatisch einfügen“.
Ihr Code wird bei der Aktivierung automatisch auf Ihrer Website ausgeführt.
Blättern Sie schließlich zurück zum Anfang der Seite und schalten Sie den Schalter „Inaktiv“ auf „Aktiv“ um.
Klicken Sie anschließend auf die Schaltfläche „Snippet speichern“, um Ihren Code auszuführen.
Sie haben nun erfolgreich die Schriftgröße auf Ihrer WordPress-Website geändert.
Bonus: Textfarbe in WordPress ändern
Abgesehen von der Größe können Sie auch die Textfarbe auf Ihrer Website ändern, um Ihre Inhalte lesbarer und optisch ansprechender zu machen. Außerdem können Sie damit Ihr Branding verbessern und wichtige Informationen hervorheben.
Um die Textfarbe zu ändern, müssen Sie einen Blogeintrag im Blockeditor öffnen und einen Absatzblock auswählen. Wechseln Sie dann im Blockbedienfeld auf die Registerkarte „Formatvorlagen“ und klicken Sie auf die Option „Text“.
Daraufhin wird das Farbauswahlwerkzeug geöffnet, mit dem Sie eine Textfarbe Ihrer Wahl für den Inhalt auswählen können.
Wenn Sie die Textfarben auf der gesamten Website ändern möchten, können Sie WPCode verwenden, das beste WordPress-Code-Snippet-Plugin auf dem Markt.
Nach der Aktivierung besuchen Sie einfach die Seite Code Snippets “ + Add Snippet in der WordPress-Admin-Seitenleiste und klicken Sie auf „Use Snippet“ unter der Option „Add Your Custom Code“.

Unfortunately, this is only available to paid accounts. If you’re using WordPress.com, there is no Plugins tab located in the Dashboard.

Actually, it’s only available to WordPress.org accounts, which is not the same as a paid WordPress.com account. Anytime you see „WordPress“ without a .com at the end, it’s safe to assume it’s referring to the self-hosted .org, which WPBeginner tips & tutorials are aimed at. I know it can be confusing for people who use .com, but the two really are very different animals. When looking for help, you’ll get better results if you’re sure to include „wordpress.com“ in your search terms.

I have tried to download TinyMCE several times without success. When I try to open the files. everything appears to be written in Arabic (characters look like that!) Any other suggestions as I’m new to WordPress and would love to get my website up and running. Thank you!

I’m still not sure about paragraph headings, though. I have that button, but I didn’t seem to be able to get it to give a dropdown menu or anything.
One main reason I got frustrated with WP was that I couldn’t seem to change font size and the text of my blog always seemed too small.

I sure wish someone could explain how we can change the post title font size without the change affecting the Recent Posts widget. I am using the basic Twelve Thirteen. It offers advanced Post Title font changes with a link found directly under the title. But totally useless, since any changes equally affect the Recent Posts box!

What about changing the font size of the Title….when I try to do this, the Recent Posts in the sidebar increases in size and looks terrible. No way is offered to resolve this anywhere that I can find…and I’ve been looking for hours. But unless I reduce the title size, the default size is so large it takes up half the opening page.

Are these option, including the plugin font size options not available if you host your own site or something? I did everything everybody says to do, dragging the font size button to the bar etc., and I get no option to resize fonts no matter what.
I also have no „paragraph“ menu.

In method 2 described in this article- the font size option does not exist when you install it. It does add options (most of which already exist) but the one that nearly everybody wants is sadly absent. I guess photoshop was used for the above illustration

how can I change the font of a specific title page without affecting the title on the rest of the pages?

I installed the plug-in from the link on this page and installed and activated it. I opened the second menu with the last button on the first row but it looks the same as before I installed it. I tried deactivating and reactivating several times but the option to change the font is still not there. A new row at the top (I think it’s new, anyway) appeared with „file“, „edit“, „insert“, etc. right above what used to be the first row.

Tip for others… Please make sure that when you „Go To Settings“ and you see the „TinyMCE Advanced“ text in the drop down Menu… Remember to configure your Toolbar with the Font Size etc otherwise you will not have it in your toolbar as the toolbar has much more options and the Font Size is not an automatic part of your new toolbar… So simple with the drag-and-drop to configure…. Downloaded and activated this plug-in, but as a couple of users mentioned earlier, it doesn’t include the option to change the font size. All of my options are the same as the picture you provided with the exception of the Font Size. In place of it, I have Styles. Your picture is very misleading.

The second line of buttons appears when you click on the last button in the first row, its called show/hide kitchen sink button. Clicking on it will display another row of buttons in your visual post editor.

Another way is to use a theme framework like Thesis, and I suppose Genesis or Headway and the like(I use Thesis, so it’s what I’m familiar with). You have a dashboard to easily change anything you like anywhere, such as font size in specific locations.

How do you give the user an option to change the font size and elements (if they have bad eyesight, etc.) Here is an example: drwalisever. com. In the top right corner there are 2 buttons. It uses the Fusion theme, which is no longer developed. A tutorial would be great, thanks!

The heading tag options only show up in the visual editor. If you are in the HTML editor, it will not show.
